Metal Jacketed Gaskets: The Ultimate Sealing Solution for Demanding Applications
Asian Sealing Products understands that the reliability of your sealing components is paramount in critical industrial processes. We offer premium Metal Jacketed Gaskets engineered to provide robust sealing performance in high-pressure, high-temperature, or corrosive environments.
A metal jacketed gasket is characterized by its metallic outer shell paired with a compressed fiber filler, which can be either metallic or non-metallic. In this design, the filler material provides resilience, while the metal jacket safeguards the filler, offering resistance against pressure, temperature fluctuations, and corrosion.
Types of Metal Jacketed Gaskets
We offer a range of metal jacketed gaskets from IDJ1 to IDJ8 to suit diverse industrial requirements, including:
Gasket Type | Construction | Uses | Suitability |

Metal gaskets may leak due to inadequate surface preparation, improper installation techniques, insufficient bolt torque, flange misalignment, or damage to the gasket material.
A metal gasket seals by utilizing the inherent strength and deformability of the metal material to create a tight seal between two mating surfaces. When compressed between the flanges, the metal gasket undergoes plastic deformation, filling in surface imperfections and creating a barrier that prevents fluid or gas leakage.
In most cases, metal gaskets do not require additional sealant or gasket compound. Metal gaskets’ ability to deform and conform to flange surfaces, provides adequate sealing without the use of sealant. However, in certain applications or when specifically recommended by the manufacturer, a sealant or gasket compound may be used. It is important to follow the manufacturer’s recommendations and guidelines regarding the use of sealant, if necessary.
Our metal jacketed gaskets offer versatility in manufacturing with the ability to adopt various configurations. These gaskets commonly incorporate a non-asbestos, high-temperature gasket material filler suitable for applications reaching up to 900°F (482°C). For elevated temperatures or specific applications, alternative soft fillers are also accessible. The standard metals utilized in crafting jacketed gaskets include aluminum, copper, brass steel, nickel, Monel®, Inconel®, and stainless steel variations such as types 304, 316, 321, 347, and 410. The selection of jacket metal is contingent upon the specific service conditions encountered.
